As many times as I’ve told myself to update this blog is as many times as I’ve realized that I have yet something else to do. It’s been one of those days/weeks/months.

Time just seems to slip past so rapidly that I can’t keep up with it. Yet again a twenty four hour period can feel like a million years. An eight hour work day is an eternity and a struggle. Yes, I’m back on the market for a new job after three or four years. In related news, I’m also done being a social creature at work. Time to learn to keep professional/personal from blurring lines because when all the cards have been dealt it’s almost always a bad idea. (Almost always because my dear friend J is someone I met at work and I wouldn’t trade her for the world.

It would seem that somehow being nice is no longer the polite or professional thing to do. Instead of being an asset, it’s a negative. When did that happen? What did I miss? Am I the only one who was raised with respect, decency and common courtesy being expected and encouraged?

I really do hope not but the more and more I begin to see the true faces of people who claim to “love” you and swear to be your “friend” and what I see turns my stomach. If it weren’t for my true friends, my inner circle, I would lose all faith in the idea of friendship. Ladies and Gentlemen, you are loved and appreciated by me more than words can say.

I  don’t know where this sudden burst of enlightenment has come from, maybe because I’ve been reevaluating my life choices? Or maybe it was simply time for my eyes to be opened wide. After all, I’m not getting any younger and if I’m going to accomplish anything in the (hopefully many) years I have left, it’s time that I get on the ball with it.

Step One: Job hunt.

Step Two: Actually finishing a novel. I’ve got a good idea bubbling away if I can just manage to get it down onto paper and into words that make sense I think I’ve got something possibly amazing on my hands.

Step Three: Worry more about me and less about others so that I can for once take care of myself (figuratively speaking) and get to a better place. That better place may include me going back to school but I need to do research into what I want to do and what I can afford to do. Maybe a mix of online classes and stuff from the local community college.

There are many more minor steps but I won’t bore you (if you’re still here) with those things because  if I keep going your eyes will just start to bleed and fall out of your head.

More soon, including a possible sneak peek of my novel’s opening. Until then be sure to take care of yourself so that you can take care of what is most important to you.
